Stage One

  • Behavior nearly normal by ordinary observation
  • Slight mood changes

0.05-0.06

Stage Two

~Euphoria~

  • May be pleasant, sociable, relaxed or excited
  • Decreased inhibitions
  • Impulsive behavior
  • Talkativeness
  • Reason and caution impaired
  • Driving ability impaired
  • Decreased rational decision making abilities

0.08-0.09

Stage Three

~Excitement~

  • Slight decrease in fine motor skills (ie. writing, tying shoes)
  • Poor judgment
  • Slightly slurred speech
  • Slow reaction time
  • Impaired hearing
  • Deterioration of control

0.10-0.17

Stage Four

~Excitement~

  • Sense of balance is off
  • Lack coordination
  • Impaired movement
  • Staggering, unable to stand upright
  • Slurred speech
  • Blurred vision
  • Impaired judgment of distance
  • Exaggerated emotions
  • May become more aggressive

0.20-0.29

Stage Five

~Excitement/Confusion~

  • Decreased pain and sensation
  • Erratic emotions
  • Muscle coordination/balance noticeably impaired
  • Severe confusion
  • Semi-stuporous
  • Vomiting

0.30-0.39

Stage Six

~Confusion/Stupor~

  • Semi-consciousness
  • Diminished reflexes
  • At risk of passing out
  • Impairment of circulation and respiration

0.40 +

Stage Seven

~Coma~

  • Cardiac distress
  • Subnormal body temperature
  • Loss of consciousness
  • General inertia

0.50+

Stage Eight

~DEATH~

  • Death from cardiac arrest
